Infotainment has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade, and Audi’s MMI system is a prime example of it done right, according to many reviewers. But with most functionality located on a screen in the center stack, Audi decided to raise the bar by offering a system that lets you control navigation, media, and other apps right from your instrument cluster. It’s called Virtual Cockpit.
The video above shows an overview of the system in the context of the 2017 A4. In Classic view, you can see your tachometer and speedometer settings, but when switched to Infotainment view, your maps, music, radio, and more occupy the lion’s share of the space. Operated either by the touch pad on the center console, or a dial on the steering wheel, it’s meant to be easy to use without taking your attention off the road, where it belongs.
For an in-person overview of Virtual Cockpit on the TT, A4, Allroad, or Q7, drop our Audi dealership in Fargo, ND a line. We can show you how it works, and walk you through some of the other impressive features of our available four-ringed models.
