Halloween is one of the most celebrated holidays on the calendar, and millions of kids will go trick-or-treating. That can create a safety hazard, because they have to share space on the road with drivers. Here are some safety tips for both drivers and parents to help keep kids safe.

Drivers

Reduce your speed when in areas where there might be children, and always be on the lookout for pedestrians. Drive with your lights on, even if there still is some daylight. If you pull over to drop off a trick-or-treater, be sure to turn on your emergency flashers.

Parents

Review pedestrian safety with your children and make sure they understand that they only should cross at a crosswalk. Also, make sure your child has some sort of reflective clothing on.

We at Valley Imports want everyone to have a happy Halloween. Make sure you follow our advice and stay safe.
